Role Overview
The Trust Officer will provide operational support to the Corporate Trust team. This entry‑level role is ideal for someone starting their career, requiring no prior experience, with full training provided. You will assist with day‑to‑day activities to ensure smooth delivery of Corporate Trust services.
Job Role & Responsibilities
- Assist with handling basic post‑issue matters under supervision
- Support the team by preparing, updating and maintaining current trust files and internal database
- Updating existing transactions, running various reports, completing diary notes and tasks
- Carry out simple document checks and assist with basic document processing
- Help coordinate internal approvals, signatures, and document execution workflows
- Support billing and invoicing activities, which includes liaising with the Finance department to ensure the preparation of invoices for legal and trustee fees incurred and dealing with queries from the Finance department and clients on invoices
- Assisting with ad-hoc projects
- Ensuring colleagues are regularly informed and up-to-date on the status of any team matter being worked on
- Assisting with KYC as required
- Day-to-day administration and operations on property related matters for Housing Associations
- Check proof of holding requests
- Monitor shared inboxes and help direct enquiries to the appropriate team member
- Assist with drafting simple email responses and gathering required information
- Help coordinate with internal stakeholders (New Business, Trust Solutions) to support the smooth handover of new and ongoing transactions
- Arranging signing of Trust Deeds, Legal Charges, Powers of Attorney and a variety of other legal documents
- Attend events and Business Development opportunities
Team & Process Support
- Maintain accurate records of all tasks and updates
- Assist with the organisation of meetings, preparation of supporting materials and follow‑up actions
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, including filing, record‑keeping and operational workflows
Professional Development
- Participate fully in training programmes and learning opportunities within Corporate Trust
- Build foundational knowledge of trust documentation, post‑issue matters, and the wider Corporate Trust service offering
- Engage positively in performance management and feedback processes
General Responsibilities
- Contribute positively to LawDeb’s culture and values
- Attend meetings as required and deliver tasks diligently
- Where regulatory rules apply, abide by these in spirit and fact
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by senior management
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
- Willingness to learn about corporate trust, legal documents, and financial transactions
- Clear and confident communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good time‑management and ability to prioritise tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
