Role Overview
As part of the Corporate Trust team, the Escrow Officer will support the onboarding of new Escrow transactions and manage a wide array of Treasury functions and responsibilities.
Job Role & Responsibilities
- Co‑ordinate with our clients in‑house/external legal counsel to negotiate Escrow contracts and review supporting governing documents across a whole host of CT products such as Paying Agent Agreements, Settlement Agreements, Account Bank Agreements, Charge Agreements and Non‑Disclosure Agreements, and partner with internal legal to ensure aggressive deadlines are met while protecting the risk profile of Law Deb.
- Present new Escrow deals during the weekly pipeline meeting.
- Accompany the Head of Escrow to client meetings and assist in co‑presenting to a large number of law firms (more specifically their corporate M&A teams) in order to market the Escrow product.
- Build and maintain an extensive network of client law firm relationships.
- Collaborate with the finance team monthly to validate the monthly forecasting figures.
- Ensure that all operational transactions are processed smoothly, promptly and accurately. This requires monitoring and managing transaction flows, bank account and stock reconciliation queries, review and maintenance of operational risk and procedures, meeting all departmental reporting requirements and maintaining Treasury management systems to meet the needs of the department.
- Liaise with the accounts department to ensure the preparation of invoices incurred in connection with all transactions, dispatch the prepared invoices and monitor the payment of these fees from the relevant parties.
- Attend meetings with external clients to promote the business; together with identifying areas for growth and appropriate contacts to meet.
- Ensure that Treasury and Banking tasks are appropriately allocated and prioritised in advance.
- Maintain proper records on all the department’s business units including relevant procedures.
- Retain a good practical knowledge of investment payments systems, foreign exchange trustee principles and the FCA's general requirements.
- Ensure compliance with trust documentation and departmental procedures, including undertaking KYC checks where necessary, trust law and with the FCA's regulations at all times (exercising judgement by taking internal and/or external advice as appropriate).
- Carry out such duties as the requirements of the Company shall from time‑to‑time demand.

- Contribute to the LawDeb culture positively, attend meetings as required and carry out duties willingly and diligently.
- Where regulatory rules apply, abide by these in spirit and fact.
- Carry out such other tasks as you may be reasonably directed to do by the senior management team from time to time.
