The Role
As part of a collaborative hub, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality secretarial support to partners and fee earners. You will take ownership of workflows, contribute to team efficiency and act as a trusted advisor within the function. The Senior Secretary (Finance) will also support the development of junior team members and contribute to the smooth day‑to‑day running of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high‑level support to partners and fee earners, building strong professional relationships
- Act as a role model and mentor, sharing knowledge and best practice with colleagues
- Take a proactive approach to tasks, anticipating issues and identifying solutions
- Collaborate closely with billing teams to ensure seamless financial and administrative support
- Manage client relationship systems, including matter opening, maintenance and closure
- Coordinate internal and external meetings, including logistics, agendas and documentation
- Produce and format documents using document production tools
- Arrange complex travel bookings, including visas, accommodation and transport
- Support client events, seminars and team activities
- Assist with financial administration tasks such as expenses and billing support
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and provide wider administrative support as required
About You
- Previous experience in a secretarial role, ideally within a professional services environment
- Strong working knowledge of document management systems and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational and diary management skills
- Confident communicator with strong written and verbal abilities
- Ability to prioritise effectively and remain calm under pressure
- Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
- Proactive, adaptable and solutions‑focused approach
