The role involves providing hands-on support across billing and wider finance processes, working closely with Partners, fee earners and the Finance team to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and payment processing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, amending and distributing billing guides to Partners
  • Producing draft invoices and finalising bills for client submission
  • Submitting invoices via email and client e-billing platforms
  • Liaising with Partners on billing queries and following up on outstanding drafts
  • Processing disbursements, Counsel fees and overhead invoices
  • Daily processing of incoming and outgoing payments (office and client accounts)
  • Handling expenses, petty cash, foreign currency and corporate card administration
  • Supporting conflict checks and setting up new clients and matters
  • Responding to internal and external finance queries via the Finance inbox
  • Assisting with ad-hoc billing and finance tasks as required

About you:

  • Previous billing or finance experience within a law firm is preferred
  • Familiarity with legal billing processes (e-billing experience desirable)
  • Some knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules is advantageous
  • Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong time management and prioritisation skills
  • Confident communicator who works well with stakeholders at all levels
  • Proactive, reliable and a strong team player
