The team
You will work alongside Partners, fee earners and a structured PA team, including senior and junior PAs and administrative support.
Key responsibilities
- Operational & Partner support
- Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the practice and the PA team.
- Act as the main contact for business services teams.
- Improve Partner efficiency by managing administrative processes.
- Attend Partner meetings, set agendas and capture actions.
- Support financial awareness, utilisation monitoring and salary benchmarking.
- Coordinate billing processes and ensure PA team compliance.
- Support technology updates and communicate recurring feedback.
- Work with BD teams to ensure accurate client, market and activity information.
- Ensure PA support for interaction lists, referral data and events.
- Develop, train and mentor the PA team.
- Lead performance management and regular check‑ins.
- Ensure proactive, high‑quality support is delivered across the group.
- Oversee PA recruitment, resourcing and succession planning.
- Allocate work fairly while supporting individual development.
- Share best practices and maintain consistency across departments.
- Help shape departmental processes aligned to firmwide initiatives.
- Support wider training needs with L&D.
- Assist other practice areas with overflow work when required.
About you
- Strong PA experience with supervisory/mentoring background (essential).
- Experience in a partnership environment, ideally within legal or professional services.
- Excellent written English, grammar and attention to detail.
- Advanced MS Office skills and familiarity with document and billing systems.
- Confident communicator with strong influencing skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, resilient and able to manage fluctuating workloads.
