A leading law firm is looking to hire a Legal Billing Assistant to join its high-performing Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career to build on initial billing or finance experience in a professional services environment.
The Role
Working within a collaborative revenue team, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate billing, efficient collections, and strong internal stakeholder support. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing a high volume of invoices accurately and in line with firm procedures
- Converting work in progress (WIP) into compliant client invoices
- Supporting credit control activities to ensure timely payment of invoices
- Managing and resolving billing queries, escalating where required
- Maintaining accurate records of outstanding invoices and client interactions
- Liaising regularly with fee earners, partners and finance colleagues
- Supporting senior members of the revenue team on day-to-day activities
About You
- 6–12 months’ experience in a legal or professional services environment (essential)
- Exposure to billing, revenue, finance or credit control processes
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence dealing with stakeholders at all levels
- Good level of numeracy and understanding of financial processes
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and Outlook
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with a willingness to learn
