The role involves providing hands-on support across billing and wider finance processes, working closely with Partners, fee earners and the Finance team to ensure accurate, timely invoicing and payment processing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing, amending and distributing billing guides to Partners
- Producing draft invoices and finalising bills for client submission
- Submitting invoices via email and client e-billing platforms
- Liaising with Partners on billing queries and following up on outstanding drafts
- Processing disbursements, Counsel fees and overhead invoices
- Daily processing of incoming and outgoing payments (office and client accounts)
- Handling expenses, petty cash, foreign currency and corporate card administration
- Supporting conflict checks and setting up new clients and matters
- Responding to internal and external finance queries via the Finance inbox
- Assisting with ad-hoc billing and finance tasks as required
About you:
- Previous billing or finance experience within a law firm is preferred
- Familiarity with legal billing processes (e-billing experience desirable)
- Some knowledge of the SRA Accounts Rules is advantageous
- Highly accurate with excellent attention to detail
- Strong time management and prioritisation skills
- Confident communicator who works well with stakeholders at all levels
- Proactive, reliable and a strong team player
