Location: London (hybrid, approximately 60% office / 40% remote)

Hours: Full time

Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (parental leave cover)

ROLE SUMMARY

A top international law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Reward and Benefits Manager to join its HR leadership team on a 12-month fixed term contract covering a period of parental leave.

As Senior Reward and Benefits Manager, you will shape and deliver the firm's international reward and benefits strategy, ensuring it is market informed, commercially aligned and compliant, and that it supports the attraction, retention and engagement of people across all of the firm's operating regions. You will report to the Director of HR and manage a team of two: the Reward and Benefits Analyst and the Senior Benefits Advisor.

This is a high-visibility position. The Senior Reward and Benefits Manager is expected to be a recognised subject matter expert, solving complex problems, leading projects and advising senior stakeholders across both business services and fee earning divisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR REWARD AND BENEFITS MANAGER

- Lead reward and benefits strategy design and implementation internationally, across all of the firm's operating regions

- Provide research-based reward data, analysis and recommendations to support decision making

- Act as a key leader in strengthening the firm's pay for performance culture, including the design, testing and implementation of incentive plans for business services and fee earning employees

- Manage the end-to-end annual salary review and bonus processes via Success Factors, working with the Finance, HRIS and HR Business Partnering teams

- Guide the HR Business Partnering team to ensure reward messages are delivered and reward decisions are consistent and fair across the firm

- Advise Talent Acquisition and HR Business Partnering on salary positioning for new hires

- Oversee all grading of new UK business services roles and salary survey job matching, supporting on complex grading decisions using WTW Global Grading Software

- Manage and support the Reward and Benefits Analyst and the Senior Benefits Advisor, ensuring communications, analyses and data are accurate, compliant and accessible

- Oversee the benefits strategy, including benchmarking, complex cases, broker relationships and the benefits renewal process

- Apply knowledge of local compliance requirements across all operating regions, including the EU Pay Transparency Directive and UK Gender Pay Gap analysis

- Serve on the UK Pension Governance Committee and lead on the early establishment of the firm's US 401k scheme, with an understanding of comparable international schemes such as DEWS in Dubai

- Oversee the purpose, design and application of salary ranges for business services and fee earner populations

- Lead the annual HR budgeting process and work with the Director of HR on headcount budget

- Input into any projects where reward and benefits is key

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A SENIOR REWARD AND BENEFITS MANAGER

Essential:

- Proven, substantial experience as a Reward and Benefits specialist, preferably within a legal or professional services firm

- Proven experience of managing, supporting and developing a team, setting clear priorities and maintaining high standards

- International experience, with an understanding of how reward and benefits approaches must adapt across jurisdictions

- Experience of regulatory reporting, particularly the UK Gender Pay Gap

- Expert knowledge of grading and survey matching methodologies (preferably WTW GGS)

- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders with insight-led recommendations

- Experience of critically analysing reward processes, policies and frameworks and recommending practical improvements

- High Excel proficiency

Desirable:

- CIPD qualified (or equivalent)

- Experience leading functional or project teams with broad visibility

- Knowledge of benefits legislation and compliance requirements

- Handles complex, sensitive and confidential data with discretion
