Find your next opportunity at Law Centres Network or with one of our member Law Centres. We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Money Advice Caseworker to join our Debt Advice Team. The team is part of the Debt Free Advice partnership. You’ll support people across South West London who are facing debt, financial hardship and cost of living pressures, helping them understand their options and take practical steps to improve their situation.
You’ll work directly with clients through face‑to‑face appointments, telephone, video and digital channels, providing high quality debt advice and helping people navigate complex financial problems. You’ll also work alongside volunteers and colleagues across the organisation to provide holistic support, particularly where debt issues overlap with housing, welfare benefits and wider social welfare law issues.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing debt advice to clients across South West London.
- Supporting clients with issues including rent and mortgage arrears, consumer debt, bankruptcy and enforcement action.
- Managing your own caseload and keeping accurate case records.
- Helping clients maximise income and access additional support where needed.
- Delivering advice through appointments, outreach, telephone, video and online platforms.
- Supporting volunteers and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Assisting with project reporting, case studies and funding returns.
What We’re Looking For:
- At least 12 months’ experience providing debt advice.
- Experience working under a Money and Pensions Service contract, or a recognised debt advice qualification such as MIMA.
- Strong client care and communication skills.
- The ability to manage a busy caseload and meet targets.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and Excel.
- An understanding of the challenges faced by clients experiencing financial hardship.
- A commitment to social justice and equal access to advice services.
