A government body are seeking a Senior Associate Lawyer to join their public law team to focus on criminal litigation work. This is a full-time role, for an initial 6 month contract and requires 2 days a week in their London office (Southwark).
As the Senior Associate Lawyer, you will be responsible for conducting litigation in criminal proceedings, primarily fare evasion prosecutions and prosecutions under taxi and private hire vehicle legislation. Although not anticipated, you may be required to conduct advocacy in the magistrates’ courts if required. Finally, you will draft and review witness statements, managing disclosure, and corresponding with litigants or their representatives.
To be considered you will have a minimum of 3 years PQE as a Lawyer, and you must have demonstrable criminal litigation experience. Experience of public and regulatory law and/or familiarity with compliance and enforcement is desirable.
