A well-established entertainment organisation is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their in-house legal function. Based in the East Midlands (hybrid working), this role offers close exposure to the business and would suit a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys variety, stakeholder interaction, and practical problem-solving across a broad legal remit.
The Role:
- Work closely with commercial, marketing, and operational teams on a wide range of business activities
- Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial agreements including sponsorship, licensing, media, and supplier contracts
- Maintain and evolve standard contract templates, terms, and internal legal documentation
- Advise on intellectual property matters, including brand usage and licensing arrangements
- Act as a key point of contact for data protection and privacy matters, supporting compliance and risk management
- Provide input on regulatory, governance, and dispute-related issues
- Coordinate and manage external legal advisors as required
Ideal Candidate:
- Qualified lawyer with 1+ PQE in commercial legal work
- Experience advising on data protection and privacy matters
- Commercial, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
- Confident working directly with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Strong communication skills and sound judgment
