Legal Officer Litigation, on a temporary/locum basis. The role will start with an initial 3-month contract and extend from there as necessary.

The salary is negotiable, dependent on experience, but a preliminary guide is £18-£23/hour PAYE.

You will provide support to lawyers and senior lawyers with a caseload of legal work, across various forms of litigation including civil and criminal, housing and enforcement.

To apply you will:

  1. Be a UK-qualified law graduate
  2. Be able to demonstrate at least 6 months’ practical experience in a law firm or in-house, supporting lawyers with litigation work
  3. Be able to attend the office on a hybrid working basis of 2-3 days per week in the office

Essential experience:

  1. Drafting court pleadings, statements and general correspondence
  2. Preparation of bundles and instructions to counsel
  3. Attendance at court with counsel

Please note you must have prior local government experience to apply for this role. Applicants without local government experience cannot be considered.
