Hybrid Working, London Interim Contract: 6 months + This is a unique opportunity to help shape and embed governance within an investment and portfolio business.
Working directly with senior leadership, you will play a key role in designing governance and risk frameworks, advising executives on governance best practice, and supporting a complex portfolio of investments and joint ventures. This is a broad, hands-on role that combines strategic governance advisory work with practical delivery. You'll need to be equally comfortable advising senior stakeholders and rolling up your sleeves to drive actions through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted governance adviser to senior executives and leadership teams
- Design, implement and continuously improve governance frameworks across a growing investment portfolio
- Support the development and implementation of risk management and control frameworks
- Provide governance advice on investment structures, partnerships, and joint ventures
- Partner closely with Legal, Risk and Compliance teams on governance-related matters
- Deliver governance training, briefings, and practical guidance to stakeholders
- Maintain governance records, actions, and documentation to ensure effective decision-making and oversight
- Provide company secretarial support where required, although this forms a smaller part of the overall role
About You:
- Qualified Chartered Governance Professional (CGI/ICSA) and/or qualified lawyer
- Significant experience operating within large, complex international organisations
- Strong background spanning governance, risk, and company secretarial disciplines
- Proven experience designing and implementing governance frameworks
- Understanding of enterprise risk management and control frameworks
- Experience advising Boards, Executive Committees, and senior leadership teams
- Comfortable operating independently without a dedicated support team
- Pragmatic, commercially minded and confident influencing senior stakeholders
Ideal Background:
We're particularly interested in candidates who have held broad governance roles covering governance advisory, risk frameworks, and company secretarial responsibilities, rather than purely traditional CoSec positions. Experience supporting investment, partnership, joint venture, or multi-entity structures would be highly advantageous.
