An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an experienced Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive to join one of the region's most established and highly regarded law firms. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a thriving and expanding Private Client department, working within a supportive and collaborative team that is recognised for delivering exceptional client service across a broad range of private client matters.
The successful candidate will inherit an existing and varied caseload, allowing them to make an immediate impact while benefiting from the support of a highly experienced team. The role offers genuine long-term career prospects, including the opportunity for progression into senior leadership and potentially Partnership for the right individual. The position is primarily based in Colchester, with occasional travel to a nearby office when required. Flexible and hybrid working arrangements are available, with many team members currently working from home two to three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied private client caseload
- Full estate administration matters, including both taxable and non-taxable estates
- Lasting Powers of Attorney
- Advising clients on a wide range of private client issues

About You
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX)
- Ideally 5+ years' PQE, although candidates from a broader private client background will be considered
- Strong experience handling estate administration matters and LPAs
- Excellent client care and communication skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to business development
- Ambitious and interested in long-term career progression
- Keen to play an active role within a successful and growing department

You will join the firm's largest department, comprising nine fee earners of varying levels of experience.
