Job Description
A national membership body responsible for supporting, promoting and improving local government is seeking a Lawyer to join on an interim basis for up to 12 months. You will be working directly with the Head of Legal and Governance as an Assistant Corporate Legal Adviser.
In the role you will provide expert legal advice and support on a wide range of public and company law matters, including litigation, legislative implementation, and internal corporate matters. You will also provide legal advice on an ongoing public inquiry.
You should be a qualified Lawyer ideally with a minimum of 5 years’ legal experience. Experience of the following is highly desirable for the post, including expertise in Company Law, Governance, Local Government law including standard issues, judicial reviews, housing, planning, licensing, procurement, and commercial contracts. Experience of working in local government and/or public sector is also highly desirable.
You will receive an hourly rate of £34.95/h + £5.80/h holiday pay (PAYE) or £46.61/h (Umbrella). Candidates are expected to attend the office two days a week (London).
