A leading FTSE-listed organisation is seeking an Assistant Company Secretary to support both subsidiary and PLC-level governance on a 12-month contract. Hybrid working, requires three days per week in the London office, with two days from home. This position is well suited to a qualified governance professional who can confidently manage a portfolio of UK entities, support regulatory compliance, and contribute to key listed-company governance activities.

The Role:

  • Manage a portfolio of c.30 active UK subsidiaries, acting as company secretary and overseeing all board meeting logistics and statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate board agendas, papers, and formalities, ensuring timely completion of the statutory accounts process.
  • Provide support on UK Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) compliance, including maintaining insider records and conducting periodic documentation reviews.
  • Assist with preparation for the organisation’s Annual General Meeting, including allocated workstreams, procedural documents and voting guidance.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Chartered Governance Institute qualified (or qualified by experience) with solid UK company secretarial experience.
  • Strong background in UK subsidiary governance, statutory compliance and board administration.
  • Familiarity with MAR requirements and listed-company processes.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Confident communicator with a proactive, professional approach.
