LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority with office based in Central London, for a locum lawyer to work on adult social care matters. You will be offered an initial 3-month contract with potential to extend. There may also be opportunity for a permanent role in the future.

To apply you will be:

  • A UK-qualified solicitor, barrister, or chartered legal executive, with prior UK local government experience
  • Experienced handling a caseload of matters in adult social care
  • Able to attend the office on a hybrid working basis of at least 1-2 days per week on site
  • Able to conduct advocacy in court, depending on the business needs of your caseload

Essential experience:

  • Casework on community care and human rights assessments
  • Court applications under s29 Mental Health Act
  • Applications to the Court of Protection and High Court

The salary will be up to £45/hour – £55/hour umbrella, and this is negotiable dependent on experience.
