LAW Absolute is working exclusively with a professional services business who are seeking a Client Relations Director to lead and grow relationships with leading UK law firms on a permanent basis. This is a senior, relationship-led role suited to someone with a legal background, strong commercial instincts, credibility with senior legal stakeholders, an excellent private practice network and a genuine interest in high‑value litigation and advisory work.
The Role
As Client Relations Director, you will own and develop a defined portfolio of major law firm clients, acting as a trusted adviser and long-term strategic partner. You will be responsible for deepening relationships, driving sustainable revenue growth, and working closely with internal delivery teams to ensure an outstanding client experience. The role is London-based with frequent in-person engagements.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Account Leadership
- The successful candidate will own and develop relationships across a portfolio of circa 10 key UK law firms.
- You will build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders through regular face-to-face meetings, events and networking.
- You will act as a strategic adviser, understanding client pressures and objectives and tailoring solutions accordingly.
- Create and deliver structured account plans, including relationship mapping and growth strategies.
- Identify cross-practice and cross-office opportunities.
- Monitor, report and forecast account performance.
- Revenue & Business Development
- You will drive revenue growth across the client portfolio.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from enquiry to conversion.
- Collaborate with marketing on firm-specific initiatives, thought leadership and events.
- Support international growth initiatives through existing client relationships.
- Operational Excellence
- Partner closely with internal client services teams to ensure seamless delivery, often to tight timelines.
- You will act as a senior escalation point within the sales process.
- Conduct post-engagement follow-ups to capture feedback and measure impact.
- Market Insight & Positioning
- Build and maintain a strong professional network within the UK legal market.
- You will stay informed on litigation and market trends relevant to your client base.
- Share client insights internally to inform strategic and commercial decision-making.
The successful candidate will be required to show that they not only have but can develop deep, trusted relationships across a legal portfolio. It is essential you have a strong network and are able to show revenue growth in your current and previous roles.
