A local authority based in the Berkshire location is seeking a Senior Childcare Lawyer for an initial period of three months. The council is seeking a qualified and experienced locum Senior Childcare Lawyer who can start as soon as possible.
In light of the recent judgment in the Mazur case, the locum Childcare Lawyer must either be a solicitor or barrister or Filex with litigation accreditation admitted in England & Wales, who holds a current practising certificate. You must be admitted to practice in the UK to be considered.
The Senior Child Care Lawyer will be responsible for conducting all aspects of public law children’s proceedings, including:
- issuing applications
- drafting legal documentation
- preparing bundles
- providing clear legal advice to social care clients
The role requires strong advocacy skills, with regular representation in the Family Court, as well as effective liaison with counsel, external agencies, and internal stakeholders. A thorough understanding of the Children Act 1989, Public Law Outline processes, and related legislation is essential.
The rate on offer is £60 umbrella per hour DOE.
