A leading law firm with a highly ranked Tax team is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Tax Lawyer with a strong focus on real estate taxation to join its London office.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior lawyer to join an established practice advising on sophisticated UK and cross-border transactions, with particular emphasis on real estate investments, funds, financing and structuring.
The Role
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the firm's Real Estate, Corporate, Finance and Funds practices, providing strategic tax advice on a broad range of complex transactional matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising on the tax aspects of high-value real estate acquisitions, disposals, developments and investments.
- Providing tax structuring advice in relation to real estate investment funds, joint ventures and financing arrangements.
- Advising on UK REIT structures and domestic and international property investment arrangements.
- Supporting the establishment and restructuring of real estate investment platforms and property-related businesses.
- Advising on the tax implications of corporate transactions, restructurings and cross-border investments.
- Managing complex tax matters and working collaboratively with other practice areas to deliver commercially focused advice.
The Ideal Candidate
- A qualified solicitor with at least 8 years' PQE and substantial experience in corporate tax.
- Strong technical expertise in UK tax law, with particular experience in real estate transactions and investment structures.
- Experience gained within a reputable UK or international law firm.
- Exposure to real estate funds, joint ventures, REITs or property financing arrangements would be advantageous.
- Strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills and the ability to manage complex matters independently.
- A collaborative approach and confidence working with senior lawyers and stakeholders.
