LAW Absolute is recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority based in South London, for an experienced commercial property lawyer on a locum basis. You will be offered a 3-month contract initially, with potential to extend. You will handle a diverse range of property matters dealing with public sector land holdings, regeneration and project work including public/private partnership arrangements, development agreements, high value and high-profile transactions. Previous UK local government experience is essential.

To apply you will:

  • Be an England and Wales qualified lawyer, barrister or chartered legal executive.
  • Be able to demonstrate previous experience handling a caseload of commercial property matters in a local government environment.
  • Be able to attend the office on a hybrid working basis.
  • Be available on no more than a 4-week notice period.

The salary for this role will be offered on an hourly basis and is negotiable dependent on skills and experience, however initial guidance from the client is between £45 - £55/hour umbrella.
