Lavington School is seeking to appoint a passionate and motivating Careers Adviser. As a member of staff within our Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
As our Careers Adviser, you will take the lead in delivering high‑quality, impartial careers guidance that supports every student in making informed decisions about their future pathways, whether in education, training or employment. You will design and deliver engaging careers programmes, including one‑to‑one guidance interviews and group sessions, tailored to meet a wide range of aspirations and abilities.
A key part of your role will be ensuring that all students, including those from vulnerable groups, receive appropriate and inclusive support to help them succeed. You will work closely with parents, staff and external partners such as employers, further and higher education providers, and training organisations to provide a well‑rounded careers offer.
You will organise and contribute to careers events, including fairs and parents’ evenings, while building strong partnerships that enhance opportunities for our students. Alongside this, you will keep careers information up to date, monitor student destinations, and ensure your practice reflects current legislation and best practice standards.
Above all, you will play a vital role in promoting a positive, inclusive and supportive environment, helping every young person to achieve their full potential and prepare confidently for life beyond school.
