Registered Nurse (RGN / RMN) — Lavender Lodge, Derby** Lavender Lodge is a warm, person-centred nursing home in the heart of Derby. We're looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team — someone who believes that quality care and genuine kindness go hand in hand. **The Role** - Lead clinical care for a defined group of residents, ensuring safe and dignified support at all times - Undertake assessments, develop and review personalised care plans - Administer medications safely in line with NMC standards - Monitor residents' health and liaise with GPs and external professionals - Supervise and mentor care staff, acting as clinical lead on shift - Maintain accurate records in line with CQC requirements - Work closely with families, keeping them informed and involved **What We're Looking For** - Current NMC registration (RGN, RMN, or dual-qualified) - Genuine commitment to person-centred, dignified care - Strong communication skills with residents, families, and the wider team - Calm, decisive, and organised under pressure - Willingness to lead by example and support junior staff **What We Offer** - Competitive salary — please enquire for full details - Flexible shift patterns (days and nights available) - Supportive, stable management team with an open-door approach - Ongoing training and professional development - A genuine commitment to staff wellbeing To apply, send your CV to **[EMAIL]** or call us for an informal chat. *Lavender Lodge · 40–50 Stafford Street, Derby · All offers subject to satisfactory DBS check and references.* About the RoleKEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Delivering and overseeing high-quality nursing care for residents with a range of needs, including dementia, frailty, and complex health conditions. • Administering and recording medications safely and in line with company policy and CQC standards. • Completing, reviewing, and updating care plans and risk assessments using our digital PCS care system, ensuring accuracy and clinical relevance. • Leading and supporting the care team during your shift, acting as the clinical point of contact and providing guidance on best practice. • Monitoring residents’ health and wellbeing, responding promptly to changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately. • Building positive professional relationships with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team, ensuring open communication and trust. • Championing person-centred care — getting to know residents as individuals and tailoring care to their preferences and stories. • Supporting residents receiving end-of-life care with clinical skill and deep compassion. • Contributing to audits, quality improvement initiatives, and CQC compliance activities. • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation, recognising its importance for resident safety and team accountability. • Supporting the induction, supervision, and ongoing development of care staff, sharing your knowledge and modelling best practice. • Ensuring a safe, welcoming environment by adhering to Health & Safety regulations and infection control guidelines at all times. Requirements ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS • NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (Adult or Mental Health). • Previous experience in a nursing or care home setting, ideally with elderly or dementia care. • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, holding others to high standards with warmth and professionalism. • Strong clinical skills, including medication management and care planning. • Excellent communication and documentation skills; experience with digital care systems desirable. • Commitment to person-centred care and safeguarding vulnerable adults. • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and shift patterns as required. • Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service (or willingness to obtain). • Right to work in the UK.
