A well-established textile engineering business with over 75 years of history is looking for an experienced Executive Business Assistant to join its Winchester head office. The company operates across four global sites and serves major clients across a broad range of sectors.
The role
This is a generalist position combining business administration and B2B marketing. It’s closer to a chief of staff function than a traditional PA role. Both areas are currently unmanaged, and the right person will take ownership and get things moving with minimal direction.
Business administration
- Own and programme-manage the full sweep of head office administration eg tracking actions, chasing follow-ups, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Act as the central coordination point for the Winchester office: managing the MD's scheduling, handling correspondence, and keeping day-to-day logistics running smoothly.
- Plan and organise internal meetings, team off-sites, and company events, including the annual Christmas party and regular all-team gatherings.
- Build and maintain simple systems for tracking priorities and deadlines across the leadership team.
- Liaise regularly with site leads in the UK and internationally to support cross-site coordination.
- Handle general office management for the Winchester head office and take on ad hoc project coordination as directed by the MD.
Marketing
- Take ownership of the company website, refreshing and expanding content to accurately reflect capabilities, sectors served, and the product range.
- Manage the company's LinkedIn presence, producing regular, well-crafted posts that engage a professional B2B audience.
- Develop a library of case studies and product stories by working directly with site managers and the sales team to uncover compelling examples of the company's work.
- Engage proactively with key clients to obtain permissions for use of their brands in marketing materials. Translate complex manufacturing processes into clear, accessible content for a non-technical audience.
About you
- Significant experience in an EA, chief of staff, operations, or business administration role, ideally within an SME or owner-managed business.
- Highly self-managing. You set your own priorities and follow through without needing close supervision.
- Strong written skills with the ability to simplify complex or technical information clearly and confidently.
- B2B marketing or content experience is desirable but not essential. Comfortable with ambiguity and the pace of a busy, multi-site manufacturing environment.
What’s on offer
A flexible, part-time arrangement at a generous pro-rata salary. Direct access to the MD, broad exposure across a genuinely interesting business, and real scope to shape the role over time.
Hours: c.20 hours per week (4 half-days; flexible)
Salary: £40,000–£50,000 pro rata (FTE £75,000–£80,000+)
Location: Winchester — minimum 3 in-office days per week
Start: As soon as possible
