About the Role
As a Engineering Manager, Nordic CIS Engineering you will manage the engineering team for the Nordic Control & Information Systems Engineering. In this leader role you will lead the team with a strategic focus, communicate vision for the future and promote a culture that values a safety conscious work environment, and human performance fundamentals. You will report to the Director Adv. Operations & Controls Eng and be located in Västerås, Sweden. Model of work: hybrid.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable as the NCISE technical manager for 20-30 direct reporting nuclear I&C automation personnel.
- Accountable for the operations of the NCISE engineering team and I&C Testlab to ensure standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, and performance are met in engineering processes.
- Develop NCISE Leadership team and accountable for technical leader development activities.
- Lead innovation of solutions to create customer value in collaboration with appropriate Westinghouse organizations.
- Identify unmet customer needs through appropriate market channels especially direct customer interaction.
- Promote technology continuous improvement and standardization considering “breakthrough” technologies and cost improvement goals.
- Oversee and implement product development projects.
- Lead NCISE hiring strategy.
- Commit on the as-sold version of allocated hours required to perform engineering scope of work.
- Responsible for group financial performance, including planning and forecast.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in the role of Engineering Manager responsible for leading diverse and multicultural teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering or related field.
- Experience in I&C systems, specifically in NSSS, Feed Water and other nuclear plant systems are preferred but not required.
- Experience in estimating and completing complex projects, focus on customer‑oriented solutions.
- Demonstrate structured communication (including commitment to documentation of key customer/commercial decisions and communication of industry interactions).
- Oversee engineering activities and opportunity management, conveying feedback on customer satisfaction, needs and opportunities.
- Scan the environment to verify products and services are adding value to both the customer and Westinghouse.
- Build consultative relationships with all partners: operations, maintenance, and engineering decision‑makers to enhance Westinghouse's position as premier value‑added supplier.
