As an OT Cyber Security Analyst, you will join our automation and software engineering team, working side‑by‑side with engineers who design, build, and support our control systems and automation platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring cyber security is built into OT systems from the start, focusing on practical, proportionate security that protects safety, availability, and reliability while enabling delivery and innovation. You will report to the Software Development Manager and may work in a hybrid role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with automation and software engineers to integrate cyber security into the design, development, deployment, and support of OT systems.
- Identify and assess cyber security risks across industrial control systems, networks, and supporting infrastructure.
- Design and advise on security controls that are practical, maintainable, and aligned with operational needs.
- Support compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., IEC 62443, NIS, ISO 27001 where applicable).
- Review architectures, drawings, and technical designs from a cyber security perspective.
- Help investigate and respond to OT cyber security incidents or vulnerabilities.
- Contribute to secure operating procedures, guidance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Experience
- Experience in OT or industrial control system environments (e.g., PLCs, SCADA, DCS, industrial networks).
- Understanding of cyber security principles and how they apply in safety and availability‑critical systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and explain security risks and controls in plain language.
- Experience with risk assessment, threat modelling, or security reviews in OT environments.
- Familiarity with relevant standards, frameworks, or legislation affecting OT security.
- Foundational understanding of cyber security principles (e.g., confidentiality, integrity, availability, defense‑in‑depth).
- Interest in OT, industrial control systems, or how cyber security applies in physical and safety‑critical environments.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working in regulated or safety‑critical industries.
- Knowledge of secure network architecture for OT environments.
- Exposure to vulnerability management, incident response, or assurance activities.
- Familiarity with OT technologies (e.g., PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, industrial networks).
Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant subject such as Cyber Security, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronic, or Control Systems Engineering.
- Desirable: Relevant certifications (e.g., IEC 62443 or similar).
