As a Fabrication or Quality Inspector, you will be part of a team that ensures offshore wind components such as foundations, substations, cables, and wind turbine generators meet strict quality requirements. Your expertise may be in welding inspection, non-destructive testing, or protective coatings, and you will apply it while working at supplier facilities, fabrication yards, pre-assembly ports, and project sites. In this role, you will monitor processes, carry out inspections, and verify compliance. As a member of the international team, you will also contribute consulting services to support the construction of utility-scale offshore wind projects.
What You Will Do
- Verify processes against project specifications, industry codes, and client requirements.
- Follow production or assembly progress against the plan, reporting on deviations.
- Possible witness of non-destructive testing (UT, RT, MT, PT), review test reports, and evaluate results against acceptance criteria.
- Document inspection findings through checklists, daily logs, material certificates, and quality reports.
- Develop or follow Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), report non-conformances, and oversee corrective actions.
- Conduct final inspections, witness functional tests if required, and confirm compliance before dispatch.
- Initiate the NCR process when quality requirements are breached, reviewing manufacturing records and final dossiers, and ensuring timely acceptance of final documentation.
- Promote a strong quality culture and high HSE standards, prepare regular reports, liaise with verification bodies, and provide expert back-office support for complex technical issues.
What We Are Looking For
- Relevant degree or study program within Engineering or similar, paired with a general interest in developing renewable energy projects.
- Fabrication quality inspection experience, with a focus on utility-scale renewable projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards and industry regulations related to offshore wind farm construction and installation.
- Excellent attention to detail for identifying defects, snags, and non-conformities during inspections.
- Ability to work in challenging offshore environments while maintaining safety and quality standards.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address quality issues and propose corrective actions.
- Familiarity with inspection tools, techniques, and documentation processes.
- Ability to work on-site and travel as required by project needs.
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, enabling to present complex matters in a professional and straightforward way; any additional language is an advantage.
- High motivation, flexibility, and agility with a can-do attitude.
- Team player attitude with a curious and innovative mindset.
