As a Business Value Consultant (BVC) at LaunchDarkly, you will help shape how customers, prospects, and our internal teams understand—and realize—the business impact of the LaunchDarkly platform. This role sits at the intersection of strategy, technology, data, and storytelling, enabling customers to connect the power of modern feature management, experimentation, observability, and AI configuration to quantifiable business outcomes.
You will partner deeply with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to create compelling, insight-driven value narratives that illustrate how LaunchDarkly improves revenue, reduces costs / saves time and mitigates risk for organizations. You will also play a critical role in infusing value selling into the fabric of our GTM motion, enabling customer-facing teams with tools, frameworks, and stories that elevate LaunchDarkly from a feature set to a strategic platform.
Finally, you will leverage customer data—including releases, flag evaluations, experimentation results, and platform usage patterns—to hypothesize, validate, and articulate realized business value. This means not only helping customers forecast impact, but helping them prove it.
Responsibilities:- Lead executive-level engagements (virtual or on-site) to assess software release, experimentation, and AI-driven processes and identify high-impact opportunities for value creation.
- Drive gap analyses that map across LaunchDarkly's platform to measurable business outcomes that can be quantified.
- Deliver compelling, data-backed value narratives that tie platform capabilities to P&L drivers such as cost efficiency, uptime, delivery velocity, conversion uplift, and AI productivity.
- Present strategic recommendations to C-suite and senior stakeholders with clarity, authority, and insight.
- Own the creation of advanced ROI models, financial frameworks, and benchmarks that quantify the impact of adopting LaunchDarkly.
- Use platform data (flag evaluations, release frequency, experimentation insights, kill switch events) to form value hypotheses and validate realized outcomes with customers.
- Partner with Customer Success to ensure customers measure, understand, and articulate the business value driven by LaunchDarkly post-adoption.
- Lead value-selling enablement for Sales, SE, Marketing, and CS - building scalable playbooks, narratives, discovery frameworks, and customer-facing materials.
- Coach GTM teams to lead with business outcomes and align LaunchDarkly to strategic industry themes such as AI adoption, product velocity, digital modernization and operational resilience.
- Influence Product and Product Marketing to ensure the value narrative evolves with new capabilities across the platform.
- Shape and elevate LaunchDarkly's Business Value Consulting methodology, tools, and value realization processes.
- Define and refine how LaunchDarkly positions its platform to CIO, CTO, CPO, and CFO audiences across industries.
- Provide thought leadership on the role of AI in modern software delivery and how organizations can integrate AI into engineering workflows, experimentation strategies, and decision-making.
- Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern engineering practices; strong familiarity with DevOps, experimentation or AI-driven development.
- Experience presenting to executive audiences (VP+), with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value and financial outcomes.
- Expertise in building ROI or business case models, including identifying KPIs and quantifying economic impact.
- Proven experience facilitating discovery sessions with diverse stakeholders including engineering leads, product owners, SREs, DevOps and business executives.
- Ability to craft compelling value stories grounded in customer outcomes, industry trends, and P&L impact.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to highly technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct operational assessments of engineering or product delivery processes.
- Experience selling or consulting on platform solutions (not just tools), particularly those involving data, observability, experimentation, feature management, or AI capabilities.
- Familiarity with building or enabling value selling programs within a GTM organization.
- A background in management consulting, strategy, financial analysis, or value engineering.

About LaunchDarkly: Modern software delivery was supposed to be the foundation for a thriving digital business but reality has proven otherwise. Slow, inefficient development cycles, costly outages, and fragmented customer experiences are preventing developers from building their best software. The LaunchDarkly platform helps developers innovate on new features faster while protecting them with a safety valve to instantly rewind when things go wrong. Developers can target product experiences to any customer segment and maximize the business impact of every feature. And by gradually rolling out new application components, they escape nightmare "big-bang" technology migrations.
