About Launch Lab
Launch Lab works with SaaS and technology companies to support product development, product integrations, transformation initiatives and team augmentation. We help clients access high-quality nearshore and offshore talent, fractional technology leadership and delivery support. As we grow, we want to make our relationships with clients, talent and fractional technology leaders more structured, proactive and scalable. This role sits at the centre of that effort.
The Role
We are hiring a Relationship Manager - Fractional Ecosystem & Strategic Accounts to help build Launch Lab’s fractional leadership network while owning key client relationships. This is a diverse role, combining elements of community building, account management and commercial relationship development. It is not a pure community role nor a pure client services role. We are looking for someone who can build trust, retain context, spot opportunities, create structure and operate comfortably in a small, growing business.
The role will split roughly as follows:
- 45% Fractional community and ecosystem
- 45% Strategic client account management
- 10% Process, CRM and playbooks
What You’ll Do
(1) Build the fractional ecosystem
You will help make Launch Lab a credible hub for fractional CTOs, CxOs and senior technology leaders. This will include:
- identifying and building relationships with high-quality fractional CTOs and senior technical leaders
- creating a curated ecosystem rather than a large database of contacts
- understanding each fractional’s strengths, interests, availability and future movements
- organising events such as roundtables, virtual sessions and expert discussions
- developing content ideas from community conversations, market insight and events
- helping Launch Lab build a visible voice that senior technology leaders find useful and want to engage with
(2) Manage strategic client accounts
You will act as the key relationship owner for a portfolio of active and past clients. This will include:
- maintaining regular contact with clients and understanding their evolving needs
- meeting active clients at least fortnightly
- helping clients shape new role requirements or delivery needs
- identifying follow-on work, advisory opportunities, integration projects or wider account opportunities
- staying close to the talent already working with clients through regular check-ins
- identifying risks, frustrations, blockers or extension opportunities early
- keeping past clients engaged and part of Launch Lab’s active relationship network
(3) Create structure and visibility
Launch Lab is a small business, and valuable relationship knowledge has historically lived in people’s heads. You will help make that knowledge visible and useful. This will include:
- keeping structured CRM notes on clients, fractionals and live engagements
- capturing relationship history, buying context, current issues and opportunity signals
- helping create simple playbooks for client check-ins, talent check-ins, fractional engagement and follow-up
- working with our Ops Manager, on CRM and ATS usage
- helping reduce reliance on founder-led follow-up and informal relationship knowledge
What This Role Is Not
Supplier and partner management sits primarily with Operations. You will not be responsible for day-to-day supplier relationships, invoicing or ongoing partner coordination. You may occasionally support onboarding or join escalation calls where partner issues affect a client relationship, but this is not the core of the role.
What We’re Looking For
We are open-minded on background. You may have worked in account management, customer success, partnerships, consulting, client services, community building, ecosystem development or a related commercial role. You are likely to be a strong fit if you have:
- experience in client-facing B2B roles where relationship ownership was central
- experience managing client accounts and building long-term stakeholder trust
- exposure to technology delivery, software services, SaaS, implementation, product development or digital project environments
- comfort speaking with senior stakeholders, including CTOs, founders, product leaders and operational decision-makers
- good commercial judgment and the ability to spot opportunities without becoming overly salesy
- strong CRM discipline
- the ability to operate in a small company where not everything is fully defined
- excellent listening skills, good judgment and calm credibility
You do not need to be deeply technical or to have personally implemented software. You do need to be comfortable operating around technology businesses, software delivery conversations and senior technical stakeholders.
What Success Looks Like
Over time, success will mean:
- a growing and engaged network of fractional CTOs and senior technology leaders
- regular, high-quality client conversations that surface needs early
- better visibility of client opportunities, risks and relationship history
- stronger support for talent working with clients
- useful events and content that position Launch Lab as a credible hub for senior technical leaders
- consistent CRM usage and simple playbooks that make relationship management repeatable
Application Process
Our process is designed to reflect the role. It will include:
- CV submission
- Written and video questions covering fractional ecosystem building, strategic account management, operating style and salary expectations - these will be reviewed by our team (not by AI!)
- Interview with Launch Lab Team members
- Live working challenge with CEO, exploring client account management, fractional community building, prioritisation and structuring information
