Dirtea is a high-growth, founder-led DTC wellness brand redefining the functional beverage space with its range of mushroom-based coffees, matcha, cacao and supplements. The business has scaled rapidly through its Shopify storefront, which drives ~70% of revenue, and is now entering its next phase of growth - including retail expansion and continued investment in its eCommerce experience.
This is a hands-on Shopify Developer role, acting as the primary technical owner of the storefront. You’ll be responsible for the ongoing development, optimisation, and performance of a high-impact DTC platform - working directly with founders and commercial teams in a fast-moving environment. This is not a management role - it’s for someone who enjoys building, fixing, and improving things end-to-end.
What You’ll Be Doing- Build, customise and optimise Shopify themes (Online Store 2.0, Liquid)
- Identify and fix bugs, performance issues, and inefficiencies across the storefront
- Improve site speed, UX, and conversion rates
- Develop and maintain integrations across:
- Subscriptions (e.g. Recharge / Skio)
- Payments
- Marketing tools and third-party apps
- You’re delivering visible improvements within your first 4–6 weeks
- The site becomes faster, smoother, and higher converting
- Integrations are stable, scalable, and well maintained
- You become a trusted technical partner to non-technical stakeholders
- Core:
- Proven experience as a hands-on Shopify Developer in a DTC/eCommerce environment
- Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid and Online Store 2.0
- Experience with Shopify APIs (REST/GraphQL) and third-party integrations
- Solid front-end skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Track record of improving performance, UX, and conversion
- Experience with subscription platforms (Recharge, Skio, etc.)
- Comfortable working as a sole technical contributor
- Shopify Plus experience
- Custom app development
- Experience with analytics, A/B testing, or CRO tools
- Familiarity with React/Vue
