About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Vice Principal to join a Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting a safe, inclusive, and high-achieving environment for our students. A significant focus of this role will be on safeguarding, ensuring the welfare of all students remains paramount.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safeguarding Leadership: Lead and manage all aspects of safeguarding and child protection, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and best practices, providing guidance and support to staff on safeguarding matters.
- Behaviour and Attendance Management: Develop and implement policies and strategies to promote positive student behaviour and high attendance rates. Monitor and analyse behaviour and attendance data, intervening as necessary to support students and staff.
- Operational Leadership: Assist the Principal in the day-to-day management of the school, including overseeing timetabling, staff deployment, and resource allocation. Step in as Acting Principal in the absence of the Principal, ensuring continuity of leadership.
- Staff Development: Support the professional development of staff through performance management, coaching, and training programs. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high expectations.
- Curriculum and Assessment Oversight: Collaborate with academic leaders to ensure the curriculum meets the diverse needs of students. Monitor the effectiveness of teaching and learning, using data to drive improvements.
- Community Engagement: Build and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and external agencies. Represent the school at community events and act as a liaison between the school and stakeholders.
Person Specification:
Qualifications: Relevant leadership and safeguarding certifications.
Experience: Substantial experience in school leadership, with a strong background in safeguarding, behaviour management, and attendance. Experience in managing school operations and leading staff development initiatives.
