Launceston Primary School is expanding and offers two new teaching assistant roles.

  • Part‑Time Teaching Assistant / HLTA (Tuesday & Wednesday)
    • Contract Term: Fixed‑term for one academic year. Renewal depends on funding.
    • Role: Collaborative position appointed as a TA or HLTA depending on qualifications and experience.
    • Work directly opposite an existing colleague covering Monday, Thursday, and Friday.
    • Strong communication skills required to ensure seamless continuity across the week.
    • If a TA – focus on teaching targeted small groups (full training provided).
    • If an HLTA – expanded role including whole‑class teaching elements.
    • Assist during lunchtime (paid) and may support breakfast club and after‑school provisions for additional paid hours.
  • Full‑Time Teaching Assistant
    • Contract Term: Fixed‑term for one academic year. Renewal depends on funding.
    • Role: Dynamic position supporting different classes across the school.
    • Provide small‑group teaching, in‑class support, and targeted individual guidance.
    • Regular 1:1 work with various children, though not a designated 1:1 post.
    • Assist during lunchtime (paid) and may support breakfast club and after‑school provisions for additional paid hours.
