Launcells Barton is a family run Wedding & Events venue, offering exclusive use hire to couples from across the UK and as far and wide as Australia, America and across Europe! Since opening in 2016, we pride ourselves on offering a welcoming and friendly approach to all our couples and even won "Highly Commended" at the Wedding Industry Awards in 2022. We are a small team, but every person is integral to the smooth running of the venue.

This job is about creating magical weddings and events that we can feel proud of. But the magic depends on meticulous planning and attention to detail beforehand. So, the reality is there are two main parts to this role:

  • Detailed behind-the-scenes administration, preparation, planning and relationship building
  • On the day 'hands on’ wedding & Events co-ordination

Behind the scenes:

  • Responding to email enquiries
  • Managing the diary
  • Organising and hosting visits and showing around prospective couples
  • Building and managing great relationships with couples and suppliers
  • Ensuring the venue is set up and looking its best for potential couples
  • Ordering supplies and managing logistics
  • Issuing invoices and contracts
  • Risk assessments
  • Working with the owners to keep developing the range of events that Launcells Barton can offer

On the day:

  • Smooth running of wedding day - everything from setting up the day before, on the day support and event management, managing the bar & bar staff, to clearing up post event
  • Following agreed processes and procedures to make sure no detail is overlooked
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting
  • Acting as main point of contact for wedding party and suppliers
  • Represent the brand and ensure Launcells Barton always looks at its best
  • Taking responsibility for the smooth and safe running of the wedding/event
  • Making sure health and safety rules are upheld

A bit about you:

There is something magical about being involved in someone’s wedding day and you’ll need to be the sort of person who quickly builds trust and establishes a rapport. On a wedding day we routinely walk more than 20,000 steps and it’s not unusual for us to clean up spillages or help out behind the bar. The ideal candidate will already have plenty of experience in planning, co-ordinating and managing weddings or events, but we will also consider candidates from other high pressure, deadline driven and customer facing environments.

Whatever your background, we’ll need you to have the following skills, outlook and attitude:

  • Self motivated with a 'can-do’ attitude
  • Understand the importance of planning and process
  • Brilliant attention to detail
  • Organised, resourceful and reliable
  • Great at building relationships, persuading and influencing
  • Have bags of initiative and be calm and confident in a crisis
  • Confident and able to make decisions and make things happen
  • Have a warm and friendly personality
  • Energetic and resilient with the ability to say no and manage difficult situations
  • Flexible and adaptable - happy to roll up sleeves and sort out blockages that are metaphorical or literal!

The deal:

This is a permanent job with a working pattern that reflects the business we are in. You’ll be working alternate weekends and the weekends when you are working, there will be some long days. But during the week when there is no wedding or event we can be flexible in the days/times worked and it is certainly possible to do some of the work from home. You’ll enjoy being part of a family run business based at a stunning venue. No day is the same and there will be a whole variety of tasks to keep you busy. We have exciting plans for our venue and so there is a brilliant opportunity to help shape the future. Averaging 20 -25 hours a week depending on time of year. Role can expand to full time for the right person. Interviews will commence Mid April after all candidates have been considered. Accommodation is not included as part of this role.
