AD / Director level Commercial Valuation Surveyor – MRICS / FRICS – Home working – Hiring in London and Greater London – £70,000 – £95,000 basic salary, no car allowance, 2.5% bonus over agreed threshold.

My client, founded around 15 years ago, is now a team of approximately 70, mainly covering London and Southeast England, focusing on secured lending work, with 38 valuers across all sectors.

In my experience recruiting in this sector, my client has gone somewhat under the radar but employs a sizeable, loyal team of senior, AD, and Director level valuers who value their autonomous, flexible, yet supportive culture. They tend to be among the best payers in the market, primarily offering a higher basic salary rather than relying heavily on commission or bonuses like most corporate firms.

Their valuation workload mainly involves residential and commercial secured lending work (average fee £1,600 plus VAT). They are on several bank panels and have direct relationships with banks such as Lloyds, MFS, Market Financial Solutions, etc., as well as private instructions from developers. Typical workload expectations are 2-3 jobs per week depending on complexity.

Typical Offering:

  • Basic salary between £80,000 – £95,000 depending on location, experience, and contacts
  • Matched 4% pension through Nest
  • RICS membership costs covered
  • Access to car club / company car
  • Private medical insurance
  • Mileage paid at 45p per mile
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Paid training to develop relevant skills
  • Remote working, five days per week, no office visits required unless stated otherwise
  • Generous bonus scheme (details provided upon contact)

Additional Information:

  • Technologies used include Kell, Rightmove, CoStar, and the upcoming Valos system
  • Minimum fee £1,100; average fee around £1,600, varies by sector
  • Introducing a buddy system for new joiners to assist with systems and onboarding
  • Stable business with low staff turnover, as seen on LinkedIn
  • Bonus scheme: 50% of all billing over a threshold, with 25% to the individual and 25% to a team pot supporting non-billing staff

They seek motivated, diligent surveyors who prioritize reporting standards, attention to detail, and knowledge over volume.

All figures are approximate; additional car allowance and bonus payments may apply.
