Our engineering and manufacturing clients are seeking a UK Quality Manager to join their growing team. The UK Quality Manager will split their time across 2 sites: Farnborough and Fareham, so you must be commutable and able to visit both.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Production & RMA Quality
    • Define and ensure compliance with workmanship standards across both sites, including but not limited to painting, plating, welding (Def Stan), IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620.
    • Align and harmonise technician training and SOPs in partnership with production teams and Quality Engineers at each site.
    • Measure and report internal failure rates; implement corrective actions to reduce internal and external failure costs across both sites.
    • Facilitate cross-site learning and standardisation of quality controls.
  • Supplier Quality
    • Work with Procurement teams at both sites to manage supplier approval processes and ensure ERP systems are accurate and aligned.
    • Monitor and report supplier performance and lead quality improvement activities with Procurement to reduce failure costs.
    • Drive standardisation of supplier performance metrics and feedback loops.
  • QMS / EMS
    • Ensure continued ISO 9001 certification for both sites, with all internal audits and management reviews completed on schedule.
    • Manage all QMS/EMS documentation and change control to reflect current practices and UK-wide alignment.
    • Host NQA audits for both sites, targeting zero non-conformities.
    • Ensure compliance with all applicable mandatory environmental legislation at both sites and maintain necessary records in line with legal requirements.
  • Health & Safety
    • Ensure legal and company H&S responsibilities are met at both sites.
    • Conduct and review H&S risk assessments, policies, and accident investigations.
    • Ensure near-miss and incident reporting is consistent and leads to meaningful action.
    • Oversee H&S training, safe systems of work, equipment checks, and competence reviews across both sites.
  • Customer Interface
    • Act as lead QHSE contact for both sites during customer visits and communications.
    • Manage the customer complaints process ensuring swift response, investigation, resolution, and communication.
    • Support the customer satisfaction survey process and maintain all customer-specific quality documentation.
  • Team Management
    • Lead, mentor, and support Quality Engineers and supporting roles across both sites.
    • Set and monitor individual and team objectives, including daily/weekly priorities.
    • Conduct performance reviews and escalate concerns where appropriate.
    • Foster consistency and shared purpose between sites, encouraging collaboration.

Required skills & experience:

  • 3 years+ experience within a quality management position.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced auditor.
  • Demonstrable track record of quality improvements and rework reduction.

Working hours: 38 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Must be able to travel to both Farnborough and Fareham.
