We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Lathe Machinist to join a leading manufacturing company based in Southampton.

The primary role of the Lathe Machinist will involve using specialist equipment and machinery to fabricate preforms and prepare glass ready for drawing into fibre. Completing and maintaining logs, spreadsheets and databases as indicated in work instructions. Reviewing test data and adhering to strict Health & Safety regulations.

Ideal Experience

  • Good attention for detail and accuracy
  • Reliable and keen to learn
  • PC literate
  • Any fibre optics experience is an advantage, however full training will also be provided

Shift Pattern:

  • Week 1 - Days (4-day week 12 hour shifts)
  • Week 2 - Nights (3-day week 12 hour shifts)

Salary: £33600 which includes the 20% shift uplift.

Benefits:

  • Pension: 7% employer; 3% employee
  • Holiday: 24 days plus bank holidays increasing by a day per year to 27 in total
