Our clients are looking for a Skilled Installer with experience in construction or a similar environment to support installation teams working on various sites, around the UK. Ideally based in Portsmouth or surrounding areas, and happy and willing to travel to London and surrounding areas. This role suits someone with experience in installation who is progressing in confidence and competence, working under supervision but starting to take more responsibility. Flexibility is essential, as the position requires both day and night shifts and often overnight stays, plus early starts (accommodation & expenses provided).

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation products within a site environment
  • Read and interpret basic technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Carry out mechanical fixing and electrical wiring under guidance.
  • Follow health and safety policies and site-specific procedures at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation work, including progress updates and issue reporting.
  • Use hand and power tools correctly and safely.
  • Support commissioning, testing, and fault-finding alongside senior engineers.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with site contacts, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Work flexibly, including travel and overnight stays where required.
  • Engage with in-house and on-site training to build knowledge and practical skills.

Required skills & experience:

  • Basic experience in installation, construction, electrical, or mechanical work
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical principles.
  • Ability to read and follow drawings, instructions, and risk assessments.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and good communication skills.
  • CSCS card (essential)
  • Full UK driving license (essential)
