We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Sheet Metal Worker to join a leading and growing manufacturing company based near Christchurch. Trainees also considered.
Introduction
The primary role of the Sheet Metal Worker will involve working with thin gauge aluminium. Trainees will also be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Shrinking, stretching and rolling of sheet metal
- Fabricating and assembling sheet metal products
- Setting up and operating fabricating machines as well as hand tools to cut, bend and straighten
- Shaping over anvils, blocks or forms
- Inspecting, assembling and smoothing seams and joints of welded, brazed or burred surfaces
- Work to all H&S procedures and processes
- Support in training of employees as required
Ideal Experience:
- Skilled - Preferably experience within the aerospace industry with thin gauge aluminium experience. For candidates without previous/current aerospace experience, however possess excellent sheet metal skills and have worked with thin gauge sheet metal within other sectors, with the right attitude and willingness to develop into aerospace please also apply as for the right candidate there will be an opportunity to develop your skills.
- Trainee - Preferably a background within manufacturing who has used a variety of hand tools and equipment or an apprentice looking for their next steps.
Salary: £34K- £35K for Sheet Metal experience; £26.5K - £29K for a Trainee
Hours: 37 per week, which can be worked across 4 days or 4.5 days
Overtime: Paid at Time 1/2
Benefits: Flexible Hours, plus 4 days or 4.5 days per week, Company Pension, Buy and Sell Holiday
