Job Description

Production Technician\\nWe currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Production Technician to join a leading manufacturing company based in Southampton.\\n\\nIntroduction\\n\\nThe primary role of the Production Technician will involve using specialist equipment and machinery to fabricate preforms and prepare glass ready for drawing into fibre.\\n\\nTraining provided.\\n\\nResponsibilities\\nFabricating preforms and preparing glass ready for drawing into fibre, this includes:\\n\\n * Operating machinery and controls\\n\\n * Following product specification instructions.\\n Completing and maintaining logs, spreadsheets and databases as indicated in work instructions.\\n\\n * Reviewing test data\\n\\n * Adhering to strict Health & Safety regulations\\n\\nIdeal Experience\\nThe ideal candidate will be someone who has good attention for detail and accuracy, reliable, keen to learn and PC literate. A good understanding of complex machinery and equipment would be beneficial.\\nAny fibre optics experience is an advantage, however full training will also be provided.Laboratory or scientific setting background would be an advantage\\n\\nShift Pattern:\\nWeek 1 – Days (4-day week 12 hour shifts)\\nWeek 2 – Nights (3-day week 12 hour shifts)\\n\\nSalary:\\n£33600 which includes the 20% shift uplift.\\n\\nBenefits:\\n\\n * Pension: 7% employer; 3% employee\\n\\n * Holiday: 24 days plus bank holidays increasing by a day per year to 27 in total.\\n\\n * Private Health Care including immediate family\\n\\n * Private Dental Care\\n\\n * Life Assurance: 4x basic pay\\n\\n * Subsidised Gym Membership\\n\\nIf you could be interested in this excellent Production Technician opportunity, please apply and we'll be in touch to discuss further
