We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Materials Planner to join a leading engineering company based in Portsmouth.
Due to company growth, our client is looking for a Materials Planner with extensive experience in Material Planning who can adapt quickly to the busy working environment and lead the overhaul of the material planning processes.
Responsibilities:
- Steer current and future demand requirements, aligning supplier capabilities and capacities, to enable comprehensive and realistic forecasting in order to meet all programme demand.
- Manage daily Production material requirements, supplier schedules and inventory status.
- Ensure required documentation and system transactions are executed to allocate, consume and purchase material.
- Support Production Planning and Scheduling activities as required.
- Expedite material supply.
- Create and maintain planning data parameters - order policies, safety stock levels, and lead times.
- Steering and reporting performance metrics - on time delivery, schedule adherence, lead time and inventory.
- Inventory and Invoice queries.
- Optimise the material supply chain processes using continuous improvement.
Ideal Experience:
- Ideally Degree educated within Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Professional Qualification desirable - APICS CPIM.
- Extensive working knowledge of Material Planning in a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Production Planning in a manufacturing environment desirable.
- Extensive ERP systems experience (preferably SAP).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Strong process experience.
- Good team player and communicator, collaborating cross-functionally and ability to communicate with all levels in the business.
Salary: £38K - £42.5K
Hours: Day Shift - Monday to Friday
