An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy manufacturing facility in Fareham. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, maximising uptime, and supporting operational performance through a combination of planned and reactive maintenance activities.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and complete repairs safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records using the CMMS system.
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment performance and OEE.
  • Assist with machine setup, commissioning, changeovers, and production support activities.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Support the development of maintenance procedures, SOPs, and risk assessments.
  • Monitor spare parts usage and help maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and workshop organisation.
  • Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and planning teams to support operational objectives.
Ideal Experience & Skills
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical maintenance and fault-finding experience.
  • Experience maintaining production machinery and equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements, including risk assessments and COSHH.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Desirable
  • Forklift, IPAF, or PASMA certification.
  • Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and equipment reliability practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Salary: £45,860 - £47,860 (Including Shift Allowance)

Hours: Double Day Shifts
