Mechanical Assembly Technician
Are you a hands-on Technician / Engineer who takes pride in quality workmanship and getting things right first time?
We're looking for a Mechanical Assembly Technician to assemble, test and inspect high-quality mechanical and electro-mechanical products. You'll work from engineering drawings and specifications as part of a skilled, collaborative production team.
Responsibilities Assemble mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment to engineering drawings and specifications. Read and interpret drawings, assembly instructions and BOMs. Fit components including frames, pipework, pumps, valves and fabricated assemblies. Carry out drilling, tapping, cutting, fitting and bench assembly. Install, align and test mechanical components. Identify and report build issues, missing parts and quality concerns. Complete quality and traceability records accurately. Work to production schedules while maintaining high standards of quality. Support continuous improvement, 5S and waste reduction activities. Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Ideal Skills & Experience
Previous mechanical assembly or mechanical fitting experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Confident using hand tools, power tools and measuring equipment. Strong practical engineering skills and attention to detail. Commitment to quality and a right-first-time approach. Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good understanding of workshop health & safety.
Desirable:
Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, hydraulics, pneumatics or pipework, testing/fault-finding, and an NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification.
Salary £29,250 - £33,000
Hours Monday to Friday (Flexi Time)
