We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Lathe Machinist to join a leading manufacturing company based in Southampton.

The primary role of the Lathe Machinist will involve using specialist equipment and machinery to fabricate preforms and prepare glass ready for drawing into fibre.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricating preforms and preparing glass ready for drawing into fibre, this includes:
  • Operating machinery and controls.
  • Following product specification instructions.
  • Completing and maintaining logs, spreadsheets and databases as indicated in work instructions.
  • Reviewing test data.
  • Adhering to strict Health and Safety regulations.
