We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to work for a leading engineering manufacturer in Southampton.
Introduction
The primary duties of this role will be to design, develop, and provide lifecycle support for the site's electrical and instrumentation systems. Acting as the technical authority for all electrical and control elements across new product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and instrumentation design for product systems, including sensor interfaces, signal conditioning, PLC/embedded control, and system integration.
- Produce schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and documentation using tools such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or SkyCAD.
- Specify materials, components, and instrumentation appropriate for harsh and safety-critical environments.
- Support sales and applications engineering by contributing to system concepts, technical proposals, and layout drawings.
- Conduct factory acceptance testing (FAT), customer witness tests, and on-site commissioning.
- Deliver accurate as-built documentation, commissioning reports, and change records.
- Customer and Field Support include diagnosing electrical instrumentation and/or control issues and providing technical support to customers.
This role will involve some national and/or international travel, most likely 1-2 times a year. The ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge of PLC systems and programming and the capability to be responsible for all electrical items across the site.
Salary: Up to Β£40K
Hours: Days Monday to Friday
