Our clients have an exciting opportunity for an R&D Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team near Havant. The R&D Engineer will carry out market research and develop new engineering solutions for their clients. Developing industrial mechanical, automation equipment. Duties & Responsibilities: Define product specifications for new engineering research projects. Use engineering principles, calculations, and industry-specific design software (CAD, FEA) for design and analysis tasks. Utilise in house tools such as CNC machines, laser cutting and brake press equipment to design, develop and build prototypes that use moving mechanical parts, AC/DC motors, electromagnetic equipment. Collaborate with various departments (manufacturing, quality assurance, marketing) to ensure product viability and alignment with company goals. Experience of working within mature PLM/NPI processes. Maintain thorough records of research, design, testing, and development activities. Investigate failures, participate in design reviews, modify drawings and/or, prepare work packages for others to carry-out as necessary.
