The Finance Analyst role is an integral part of the Legal Project Management team as well as Latham’s broader Global Finance team. This role will be responsible for providing financial and analytically-driven project and matter management support for the firm and its attorneys, while working in a team environment to complete ad hoc financial analysis, reports, and special projects related to project and matter management. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

Responsibilities include:

  • Utilising analytical skills and knowledge of business, economics, and finance to complete complex and routine requests, including client fee monitoring and budget tracking.
  • Accessing financial systems and business intelligence tools to obtain data, organise the information, and build reports pertaining to client project performance, and creating reports for management and attorneys to review.
  • Developing recurring reports related to client fee monitoring.
  • Running ad hoc financial analytics related to client statistics and firm financial metrics.
  • Accurately interpreting requests for analysis and reporting to facilitate the appropriate support.
  • Collaborating effectively with internal teams to identify, analyse, and resolve issues.

  • Exhibit advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills.
  • Have strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Possess strong communication skills, including effective interpersonal communications (e.g., active listening).

And have:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, statistics, or another related field.
  • Related analytical experience with preference in finance, accounting, or project management.
  • Experience responding to ad hoc requests, developing analysis, and producing reports.
  • Prior experience managing costs, fees, and budgets, preferably.
