About The Role

The Practice Support Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Practice Support Services team. This role will be responsible for providing a high level of support in the areas of litigation and transactional matters supported by the Practice Support Services (PSS) team within the Technology department, while consulting and assisting attorneys, paralegals and staff with hardcopy and electronic discovery projects and overall litigation services such as coordinating collections, productions, depositions, and trial presentations. This role will be located in our London or Manchester office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in‑office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Serving as a liaison and primary point of contact between the Practice Support Center team and the Practice Technology Consulting team to promote communication, design efficient workflows, and ensure projects are completed to specifications and standards.
  • Working directly with the Forensic Analyst and/or vendors to ensure that client or firm data is collected in a manner conducive to processing; providing guidance for exceptions and non-standard file types.
  • Understanding and following current protocols and best practices in the areas of electronically stored information (ESI) processing, technology assisted review (TAR), and production; serving as an escalation point for the rest of the Practice Support Center team for the processing of ESI, and ensuring that all processing jobs are conducted according to standard procedures.
  • Providing training and support to attorneys, paralegals, staff, clients, and external users on document review databases, as well as the firm’s practice support software and tools (e.g. RelativityOne, Nuix, Opus2, Everchron, etc); supporting the development, implementation, and assessment of on‑going PSS training programs.
  • Creating quality control processes to deliver high quality work product and identifying areas where escalation and/or new procedures are required.

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Possess strong understanding of e‑discovery and the e‑discovery reference model (EDRM).
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and proficiency with Relativity.
  • Display strong project management and consulting skills, with an emphasis on directly supporting teams of attorneys and support staff.

And have:

  • Technical experience, preferably in a Legal environment or at a vendor specialising in providing legal technology processing services.
  • An associate’s degree or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree, preferably; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
