The Role
The Attorney Research & Support Analyst is an integral part of Latham’s Financial Analysis team. This role provides origination and proliferation credit support to the firm’s partners to help them accurately record and capture the financial impacts of their work on their Brown Books. It also manages ad-hoc credit questions, report queries, and general proliferation and origination credit requests according to the firm’s credit policies. This role is located in the Global Services Office in Manchester and may be eligible for a hybrid schedule with in-office presence.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Conduct extensive new client research to identify related entities and relationships with firm lawyers by querying data from internal systems and external sources to assess which parties to include
  • Prepare client and attorney lists for partner Parallel O credit submissions by investigating client financial history and lawyer statuses to determine relevance
  • Research and input DUNS numbers, SIC codes, and other identifying data into existing and future client records
  • Process Client Credit Council approvals, coordinate actions, and communicate outcomes to partners according to required credit setup
  • Identify and manage credit setups requiring new matters and time transfers; coordinate with NBI and Billing teams and explain potential Brown Book impacts
  • Proactively reach out to attorneys for clients and matters missing credits, including conducting relevant research and analysis
  • Protect and maintain highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information

  • Can work independently to research, analyze, and develop recommendations

And have:

  • Related research and analytical experience
  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge and skill in databases such as S&P Capital IQ, S&P Capital IQ Pro, Orbis, and Lexis+ is a plus
