About the Role
The Manager of Lawyer Career Services is an integral part of Latham’s Legal Talent – Career Services team. This role will be responsible for being a key partner in building and enhancing the Latham \’CareerDesign\’ program, while working closely with the Director of Attorney Career Services, other members of the Career Services, and Latham Alumni teams, in offering Latham lawyers, Latham alumni, and select friends of the firm career coaching services, group coaching, career-programming, in-house networking, and placement support. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Other key responsibilities include:
- Working with Latham associates, firm alumni, and select friends of the firm in a career coaching capacity
- Helping an attorney define career goals, developing a strategy to pursue them, and supporting an attorney as they enact the strategy
- Providing job search coaching, including CV building, cover letters, networking strategy, interview training, and salary negotiation support
- Creating effective and innovative career-programming for our lawyers and firm alumni which include in-person seminars, career panels, webinars, group coaching, and guest speaker programming
- Identifying, organising, and implementing the expansion of the program to include new people and new resources, which will also include internal marketing of the program’s successes and finding creative ways to promote the resource within the firm
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Demonstrate well developed and professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
- Possess excellent computer and technical skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, and other programs necessary to complete thorough analyses and reports
- Display a strong sense of judgment, the ability to make complicated decisions quickly, and to understand how an issue fits within the firm’s structure
And have:
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent
- Legal qualification and may have practised law, preferably
- Experience as a career coach, career advisor, and/or legal recruiter, preferably
- Experience in a professional services organisation or business, preferably
