About the Role

The Senior Specialist – Sponsorships is an integral part of Latham’s Events, Sponsorships & Travel team. This role will be responsible for coordinating and project managing a high volume of conference and trade organisation sponsorships, while proactively leading the entire lifecycle of sponsorships and the firm’s participation, including vetting the opportunity, negotiating benefits package, submitting deliverables, leading planning meetings, outlining checklists, budget tracking, expense processing, vendor management, data management, and post-sponsorship analysis. This role will be located in our London office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. This role will be offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover a period of parental leave.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Working with key stakeholders to define objectives and thoughtfully mapping out sponsorship participation accordingly
  • Evaluating sponsorship opportunities and advising on next steps
  • Budget forecasting annual sponsorships for a specified practice or industry group
  • Negotiating and identifying favourable terms to achieve cost savings with vendors
  • Attending key sponsorships to evaluate business development opportunities and/or manage setup
  • Continuously staying abreast of sponsorship team best practices as well as market and industry trends

We’d love to hear from you if you:

  • Exhibit well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and communicate effectively with clients and staff at all organisational levels of the firm
  • Display the ability to collaborate well across teams, with a customer service focus and a strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong negotiation and organizational skills to manage multiple sponsorships at one time

And have:

  • Experience in an events, partnership or sponsorship management, conference organisation, business development, or marketing role in a professional services environment
  • Experience using event management and CRM systems (Cvent, for example)
  • A bachelor’s degree
